Overview
The California Community College system is a vast network of institutions dedicated to providing accessible, affordable, and quality education. To better align with the system's mission and serve its diverse student body, a comprehensive redesign of the registry, job fair websites, and job application platforms was undertaken. The primary goal was to create a more visually appealing, user-friendly, and inclusive online experience that reflects the dynamic nature of the community college initiative.

Process
Needs Assessment and Research
- User Research: In-depth interviews and surveys were conducted with students, faculty, staff, and employers to understand their needs, pain points, and expectations.
- Competitive Analysis: Existing community college and job-seeking platforms were analyzed to identify best practices and potential improvements.
- Accessibility Audit: A thorough review was conducted to ensure compliance with accessibility standards and to make the platforms accessible to users with disabilities.
Design and Development
- Visual Identity: A new visual identity was developed to align with the California Community College's branding and to reflect the diversity and inclusivity of the system.
- User Interface (UI) Design: A clean, intuitive, and responsive UI was created to enhance user experience across different devices.
- Information Architecture: The information architecture was reorganized to improve navigation and make it easier for users to find what they need.
- Accessibility Features: Built-in accessibility features, such as screen reader compatibility and keyboard navigation, were implemented to ensure inclusivity.
Testing and Iteration
- Usability Testing: The redesigned platforms were tested with a diverse group of users to identify any issues and gather feedback.
- Iterative Design: Based on the testing results, the design was refined and improved to address any usability concerns.






Outcome
